My President - Barack Obama

Last night I wanted to run around and just scream for joy. I didn't. Instead I bounced around on an exercise ball. Hanging out with my closest friends and drinking sparkling wine to celebrate Obamas victory.

This is the first time since I could vote that I voted for a winner. But this isn't just winning or losing some sort of minor election. This is feeling inspired. This is getting motivated by a leader. A person that says all the right things and gets everyone to believe in themselves. That is a leader. Not someone who tells you what to do.

I am so slap happy that Barack Obama is going to be my president.

It is very interesting to hear people say that: "my president" or "Obama is our President" and the happiness that you feel when you say it! I am proud to have such an inspiring person to be my leader. A leader that I have confidence in. A leader that if he needed my help I would help. Someone that makes me feel apart of the whole of America instead of feeling unheard or forgotten.

I took pictures off the internet. I need to keep this stuff! I need to get a newspaper so I can show my children and grandchildren a hard copy of this historic event. So they can hold it in their hands.

I also have newspapers from 9/11. And magazines from the tsunami and hurricaine katrina. Disasterous events.

This event is so much different. So much better. So positive. So hopeful.
Just like President (elect) Obama.

here is what I've collected so far.

The World Reacts

And the pictures from headlines on the internet....

I agree wholeheartedly with you Leslie! I woke up this morning and the first thing I said to my mom was, I didn't dream it right? Obama really did win the election. She said, Yes, he did, and Florida too. :D

I feel privileged to be a part of such groundbreaking history. Just the thought of all the positive change occurring, with so much more to come makes me positively giddy with excitement! :o)
